The Symbolism Behind Each Akatsuki Member

 As a Naruto game,

Naruto Online
excels in faithfully recreating many elements from the anime, from the game environments to the character designs and various plotlines. Playing this game feels like re-experiencing the anime from the beginning, and I truly enjoy it.

The Akatsuki is one of my favorite organizations from the series, often making a dramatic entrance complete with their own background music, which enhances their cool factor. However, each member of the Akatsuki carries a specific symbolism, which I’ll explain one by one.

Pain: Peace

Here, Pain refers to Nagato, as the true Pain is just a collection of corpses. Having grown up in war, he longs for peace.

Deidara: Art

His catchphrase, "Art is an Explosion," encapsulates his belief that true art is found in fleeting moments of beauty.

Konan: Friendship

Konan yearns to return to the days when she was with Nagato and Yahiko. In her last moments, she reminisces about their childhood together with Jiraiya, smiling as she passes.

Itachi Uchiha: Familial Love

The complex relationship between Itachi and Sasuke speaks volumes and needs little further explanation.

Zetsu: Power

He desires to resurrect Kaguya and dominate the entire ninja world.

Obito Uchiha: Love

Obito's love for Rin leads him to a complete breakdown after her death, ultimately making him an accomplice to Madara.

Kisame: Strength

With an enormous amount of chakra, he’s known as the “Tail Beast without a Tail,” showcasing his immense power.

Kagutsuchi: Wealth

As the organization’s financial officer, he goes around completing missions to gather funds.

Hidan: Religion

A devout follower of the Jashin cult.

Sasori: Childhood

Having lost his parents, Sasori embodies the pain of a troubled childhood.

Adding one more, Orochimaru: Science

When analyzed closely, each Akatsuki member embodies a specific symbolism, and these characters are not merely a random collection of individuals. This realization struck me during my third viewing of the anime.
